WEIRD SCIENCE

The folks at
LiveScience have found that money doesn't buy happiness. The researchers thought that people with incomes less then $20,000 a year would spend 32% of their time in a bad mood. But they found they only spent 12% of their time in a bad mood. They also found that men that made less then $20,000 a year spent more then 32% of their time dedicated to passive leisure. Maybe that's why the earn less then $20,000 In another
study They found the Rich slept longer then poor people and in yet another
study they found the rich have an easier death. So if you want to sleep longer have a pain free death but be a little less happy become rich

WOLVES AT THE DOOR

Now that the Supreme Court has rendered its ruling regarding the Guantanamo detainees the AP and Reuters have made statements like " The court's ruling was a resounding loss for the Bush administration" The attack on 9-11 was not an attack on George Bush but on America. The byline should be The court's ruling was a resounding loss for America. So the era of appeasement has begun. Appease the terrorist, appease those that come into this country illegally and appease those that want to tear down this country's time honored traditions and values.

AGE OF AQUARIUS

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean told a religious conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. "We're about to enter the '60s again," Dean said he is looking for "the age of enlightenment led by religious figures who want to greet Americans with a moral, uplifting vision." Well momma get out the bell bottoms and paisley shirts I'm coming home. I guess next it will be his I have a dream speech.

GET OUT OF JAIL FREE

Is it me or is there not enough being said regarding Iraq's Prime Minister al- Maliki's
National Reconciliation Plan ? It appears that he will give amnesty to insurgents that had killed American soldiers, but not Iraqi civilians. Thanks a lot al. I guess that means they can keep on killing Americans up to and beyond our departure .

BURN BABY BURN

The amendment to ban flag burning went down in defeat by a single vote. 66-34 I know I heard all the arguments against it. But some things are just worth honoring. The
Seattle Times headline reads Senate narrowly turns back flag amendment as if some great tragedy was about to happen if the amendment passed. This is fast becoming a nation of tribes with no unifying values or traditions. Erase the borders, tear down our religious symbols and sell out to the enemy in search of a Pulitzer.

DEFENDER OF THE TIMES

Its good to know the Times has a defender of its treasonous reporting in the likes of the ultra-liberal Ed Markey of Massachusetts: who has made privacy a signature issue and who said in an interview Monday that the Bush administration was adopting a strategy of shoot the messenger in trying to avoid Congressional oversight of the financial tracking program. He also stated that "If I could fix these scissors I would cut my own hair." Nice going Ed, you are to security as Ted Kennedy is to driving.

NO SILVER SKATES HERE

New York's Division of Human Rights is going after the owners of Skate Time 209 for ( of all things) having a Sunday afternoon (whispering) Christian skate time.
Hmmm. I wonder if I can start a class action suit when the fair has one of its ethnic days.

THE SHADOW OF DEATH

It looks like assisted suicide is making headlines again Patty Berg,D-Eureka and lloyd Levine,D-Van Nuys are writing AB 651. AB 651 would allow mentally competent patients who are not expected to live for more than six months to obtain a prescription for life-ending medication. Perhaps Judge Jeremy Fogel will stop this Bill with a court order? Oops. I forgot Judge Fogel only intervenes if its the death of a convicted killer like Michael Morales.

LEARNING A LESSON

Aurelio Rojsa's article titled Students get a lesson in lobbying in the Sacbee needs to read along side the article
Craig Deluz wrote in his blog. Ms. Rojas writes about three Chico State students who spent Monday talking to legislators to back Assembly Bill 540. One of the students Najera said "I want to be a productive member of society." Well one way is to respect their laws. I realize that many of the children came in with their parents and I don't want to punish the child for the sins of their fathers, but there comes a time when we need to say enough is enough. We can't keep talking about protecting our borders when we continually provide incentives for illegal immigration. I don't know the ages of the students in Ms. Rojas article but maybe they should petition the government to become U.S. citizens. Ms. Rojas may have missed the bigger story and that's California schools can still produce honor students

MINIMUM WAGE

Bee Staff Writer Jocelyn Wiener wrote an article titled
When Ends Don't Meet The story is basically about how hard it is for people to maintain a living at the minimum wage. I agree its tough trying to raise a family at the minimum wage. The problem is most jobs at the minimum wage are usually entry level jobs traditionally held by summer high school kids, students in collage, seniors looking for more income or people looking for a part-time job. Unfortunately when you are a high school drop-out, single parent or can't speak the language or worse all three the chances of getting that executive position is relatively slim. Forcing a business to pay an extra dollar an hour wont help the Monique Garcias' in this state much, but having her get a GED and learning English might. But then she would no longer be a victim and dependent on the state.

Big Union, Big development, Big government lovers. Lets see if we can't drive all the business out of Ca. Well at least we have a lot of crazy eyed democrats on the ticket all at once. Oh by the way did you hear this one? The $8.7 million the Tsakopoulos gave to the Angelides campaign was not for influencing state policy but just because he was an a Greek. heeeheeeeheeee

JUST CLOSE YOUR PIE HOLE

New York Daily News Reports today that Pat Kennedy Star of Dumb and Dumber said yesterday" he wants to be treated like an African-American from Washington if and when he gets charged for crashing his car on Capitol Hill". What an ass. As if I would be treated any different if I did the same thing. The reason you where treated different was because of your name. The best thing that could happen is you get treated like any average American and fade away into obscurity.

SHARE THE LAND

The SacBee's article Danny Glover joins crusade to save LA inner-city garden Is a socialist's dream. The Hollywood types always like to wrap there arms around a cause for a day and then go home to their mansions and lifestyle and then slap each other on the back at the next awards ceremony. I have a good idea Danny. How bout we all go to your 40- arce vineyard in Somona County and start a community garden there. And we can all sing the Guess Who song "Share the Land". What's that you say? You have property rights! What about the guy who owns the land of the inner-city garden?

dateline local Fla. Looks like the free love generation is still going, this time its the retirement home and not Woodstock. Sexually transmitted disease is on the rise among seniors. Doctors blame viagra and no risk of pregnancy as the reason; Of course individual personal responsibility could hardly be a cause. So granpa pack up you little blue pill and had for The Village where a gynecologist treats more case of herpes there then she did in Miami.
