The Kuwaitis asked for it in 1990. They were slant-drilling (i.e. stealing) Iraq's oil and Saddam Hussein tried to diplomatically resolve the dispute before resorting to force. The Kuwaitis gave Iraq the finger because it knew it's bid bad friend America would defend it and it is now exhibiting the same disrespect and intransigence to America. No surprises here.
It is just the religion of peace spreading its word for world dominance.
