BORDER FENCE GIVEN OK

Secretary Chertoff has given the green light for the completion of a 14 mile fence that runs from the ocean to the Otay Mountain writes Leslie Berestein for the San Diego Union-Tribune The construction of the fence was stopped because of environmental concerns and law suits, but now Chertoff's decision makes the project virtually unchallengeable. Four of the five County Supervisors voted in support of the federal legislation. So what is your opinion on the fence? Is this an abuse of power by Chertoff taking away more freedoms or is this a needed protection to our boarders in this era of terrorism?

I can't wait to hear from the environmental left how the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security Department are going to eviscerate the Endangered Species Act.

If I have to choose between homeland security and a snail darter, sorry Mr. Snail Darter, my families safety comes way before your ‘rights’.

How is it unclear that this will provide more safety to LEGAL Americans while preventing ILLEGAL ALIENS from sneaking into this country?

Oh, I forgot; liberals hate this country and are more concerned about "rights" for illegal aliens than they are for their neighbor.
