BAIT AND SWITCH

California Politics Today has an article regarding proposition 71 the Stem cell research bill. This is the proposition that promised a return on are $6 billion dollars worth of taxpayer money. Well according to a spokesperson for Debra Ortiz democratic California State Senator and chairperson of California State Senate Health and Human Services Committee says goal of returning money to the State of California from the sale of tax-except stem cell bonds is "unattainable"
California State Treasurer Phil Angelides will not release documents concerning what he knew and when he knew it regarding the impossibility of using tax-exempt stem cell bonds to fund stem cell research that would return money to the State of California, citing "attorney/client privilege"

I remember this argument as one of the cons of prop 71 and it looks like its true.
The big question here is when did Phil Angelides and Steve Westley know about this? Seeing how they were both big promoters of prop 71 which was being sold to voters on the promise of billions on the return of the research.

I thought libs were against "Corporte Welfare?"

I guess not if it has the words "Stem Cell" attached to it.

Maybe I should start a company like..."Stem Cell Research" company and see if I can get the taxpayers to give me 6 Billion of taxpayer money with no accounting of where I spend the money. It fooled all the libs that voted for Prop 71.

FAR.
