The next disaster headed for New Orleans is the much reported meeting of 400 members of the Democratic National Committee to be held at the downtown Sheraton. Howard Dean said"We are deeply committed to the resurgence of New Orleans. And we've been looking for ways to help in tangible ways." So they decided to have a group hug to so show how much they care.

CAN I GIVE AWAY A BOOK?

worldnetdaily write today how obscure Cindy is becoming. She gave a book signing and hardly anyone showed. It seems that these days the only ones that follow her are a few foreign press guys.

BIG PROBLEM IN THE BIG EASY

From the LaTimes. It seems like the big problem these days in New Orleans is the lack of female companionship. The doorman at the Tropical Isle stated during a 5-minute period he counted 86 men pass by and the number of women only 28
Sociologist are still pundering how it will affect socity if the trend continues. One disturbing problem seems to be that there will be less need to throw beads this Mardi Gras.
In a related story fast water rescue expert Sean Penn said he would continue his serch for the missing women of New Orleans.

CHRIS MATTHEWS WISDOM

Chris Matthews gave a speech to political science students at the University of Toronto yesterday and departed this bit of wisdom according to the Toronto Sun "If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil -- they just have a different perspective." Oh! they flew planes into the twin towers because they have a different perspective. Of course they do you idiot! They have a totally different perspective on life and what is good that's why they are EVIL.

WHAT INTELLIGENCE DID HE HAVE?

Lets look on a past CNN news story from Dec 16th 1998 Clinton explains why he attacked Iraq "Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors," said Clinton. So my question is what intelligence did he have? He also went on to say "while other countries also had weapons of mass destruction, Hussein is in a different category because he has used such weapons against his own people and against his neighbors."

Maybe Bush's problem was not gutting the CIA and the State Dept of its career staffers.

HEY BIG SPENDER

The California Teachers Association is flexing its muscle. According to the Sacbee The CTA began calling 2006 statewide candidates to its downtown office in search of potential endorsements for the June Primary. And those seen queuing up to suckle the bloated CTA where Steve Westly,Rocky Delgadillo, Bill Lockyer and Phil Angelides.
The CTA feeling empowered after defeating Schwarzenegger in the special election and with more then walking around money to hand out to the little piggys its no wonder there fighting to get in line. The CTA spent $50 million on the special election and they are willing to spend more. After all what else would a teachers union spend there money on? School, the rank and file yea right.

JUST IN TIME FOR VETERANS DAY

The LA Times ran a piece from Mark Rudd about Mark Rudd. For those of you too young to remember, Mark Rudd was the Head of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and he helped present the manifesto of the Weathermen a violent splinter group of the SDS. In his piece he laments about the days in the 60's and his protesting the Viet Nam War and wonders why the antiwar movement isn't further along than it is. Well maybe some people remember what you said 'It was crazy,' he said of the experience. 'I think we were trying to prove that we were tough revolutionaries. It's a macho thing. It made no sense whatsoever.'(ref: Ben Kenegsberg,Columbia Spectator June 4,2003)
Mark goes on to write "My own contribution is to tell the story of how an antiwar movement involving millions of people accomplished something unique in American history and almost unique in the history of empires." What was unique Mark was the fact that your cause stopped the funding for the war and brought us GIs' home which caused the death of millions of Vietnamese and Cambodians. Its shamefull but not surprising the LA Times would run your self-aggrandizing manifesto the day before Veterans Day.

PROUD CALIFORNIANS

Well I guess California parents can be proud today. They had the guts to give up their parental rights with the defeat of prop 73. I quess as a parent if you don't see your kid has a problem then they don't have one. After all its really tough being a parent and to most soft Californians you can give that responsibility to the state. And if someone wants to use your hard owned money for political reasons you object to, well don't ask me just go ahead and take it.

COURTS GONE MAD

The Washington State Supreme Court has taken assault on the family with its decision to grant a rejected lesbian lover full parental rights creating a new class of parent in Washington State.
If you haven't heard of the case Sue and Page were lovers for 6 years and decided to have a child. Page was artificially inseminated and gave birth to a baby girl. The arrangement worked for several years. A year and half ago they split and Page married the sperm donor. And subsequently barred Sue from seeing the child. Justice Bobbe Bridge who led the court said "Neither the United States Supreme Court nor this court has ever held that 'family' or 'parents' are terms limited in their definition by a strict biological prerequisite" If Judge Bridge had any class she would have stepped down from the bench after her 2003 drunk diving and hit and run arrest
I would not have a problem with this decision if Sue whould have adopted the child after it was born, but she never did.
This could realy open up a can of worms for all those ex-lovers out there.

ITS ALMOST FINISHED

Is it just me our has anyone else felt overdosed with the propositions this time around? Its just amazing to me all the propositions that have been put before the state's citizens since proposition 13 made its appearance back in 78.
Is this because we just can't get anything done because of our legislatures and governor no matter who they be or because we handed over the responsibility to special interests?
I don't pretend to have any answers, but I would like to hear what others think about this form of governance. I think that some propositions deal with things that legislatures are afraid to tackle and they don't have to put their name on it.
Well love them or hate them there are still 33 more initiatives winding their way through the Attorney Generals Office.
